I’m sorry.
How can I make you see
there is a new version of me?
This is no plea,
it’s my choice to drink this tea.

Indignant and mad —
It’s hard to be a pressurized lad.
I was lost and sad,
I didn’t realize I was acting so bad.

It never helps to get drunk
if you’re a sour punk.
Don’t smoke the skunk —
It will leave you in a funk.
Numbing the uncomfortable is bunk.

I was a turd —
so now I’m going inward.
Time to drop the absurd
and stop living so deterred.

I apologize,
I faced my own demise —
and many solitary cries.
I’m not begging for a compromise,
just look in my eyes
and see there are no lies —
or anything left to chastise.

Growing up is pain —
Forgiveness stops the rain.
So clear your brain,
drop the disdain.
Every storm runs out of rain
and the sun will shine again.
