Los Angeles, California | Canon AE-1 | Amber 400 film

Knockin’ on your door —
wishing to restore.

Accepting every retort
and outlandish distort,
via patience there must be a reward.

Each rebuff
is a time to be tough.
You are already enough —
power through the distrust.

Nature is nothing but patient
so don’t become complacent —
resolution is adjacent.

Enduring sadness opens the soul
perseverance is the goal,
don’t fall into another hole.

Greet the day with love in your heart
anything else it is time to discard.
Don’t be a diehard,
compassion it is time to regard.
Who isn’t a little scarred?

Each day takes effort
even if life feels like a cold desert —
your soul is becoming weathered,
over time you won’t be sequestered.
