The blues of time’s passing
always comes with yesterday’s news.
Forgotten toys waiting to decompose;
ghosts of memories awaiting the ferry to the other side.
Metal cars traded for virtual reality —
true connection overvalued by delusions of grandeur.
The universal clock ticks for us all at different paces —
never forget the toys of the past
left out with the trash,
a bag of disgraces.
The sun sets on everything, the clicking tock of time dings with each day;
a day, a month, two years.
Has it been fast or slow?
So much has changed, yet nothing has.
Life is watching an hourglass,
just waiting for the chance to flip it over and start again.
The question is,
when do you let it end?
